Newborn Sessions at Home

I photograph nearly all of my newborn sessions in the family's home. The light is yours. The blankets are yours. The grandmother on the couch is yours. The photographs become an honest record of the first weeks rather than a stylized studio set.

We move slowly. The baby leads. If she needs to feed, we feed. If she needs to sleep, we wait. Two unhurried hours almost always produce more than a tightly scheduled afternoon.

Bring nothing special. Wear what you wear. The point is the small, true thing — the curve of a tiny ear against a parent's collarbone, the morning sun across a nursery floor.
